  Wolff, Michael Winston Churchill
Heron Books, London, 1970. A volume from the series The Great Nobel Prizes. Black leather spine, maroon leather sides, stamped in gold, decorative endpapers. An unusual book. First a brief bio, then a look at Churchill as Novelist, Eyewitness, Biographer, Historian, and Orator. A discussion of his publications is followed by brief bios of some key colleagues. A scarce and unusual title. This copy seems to have been used as soe sort of reference with handwritten notations of photo numbers by each picture and a little paper tab at the edge of the page. Binding shows some wear. Clearly not in collecttable condition, but fully functional. (ICS Z360)

Simon & Schuster, NY, 1946, 1st American edition. It is worth noting that the American edition was published a month before the English, so is the true first. Boston, Houghton Mifflin, 1981. These weighty volumes are the key to forming complete sets of the Official Biography. The American parts 1 and 2 are bound in two tone cloth as the rest of the series, top edges unstained, white dustjackets. xxii + 1504 pages.
