Dyer, Gilbert Vulgar Errors, Ancient and Modern, Attributed as Imports to the Proper Names of the Globe, Clearly Ascertained: With Approximations to Their rational Descents. Investigating the Origin and Uses of Letters - Moses's (hitherto misunderstood) account of Eden
Exeter Printed for G. Dyer, Opposite the Guildhall. 1816, Half Leather Good lxxxv*, lxxvi, 230, 25 pp., bound in half black leather, dark green cloth boards, 6 panel gold tooled spine, red leather label with gold lettering, marbled fore-edges, former owner bookplate inside front board [family coat of arms for Barne], text good, leather tips of spine rubbed, show shelf wear, some rubbing to outside spine hinges, corners of boards worn through, minor soiling to boards, otherwise good. Title page continues: " - Biblical Long-lost names- unknown names of heathen gods, of nations, provinces, towns, &c. with a critical disquisition on every station of Richard of Cirencester and Antoninus in Britain; exhibiting our fables concerning it, and shewing from names, distances, &c. its certain, doubtful, or imaginary situations. To which is added, Richard's original work." Seems to be three works together, although it may not be three separate works, but the three works described on the rather long title page.
