A contemporary ink ownership inscription on the front free endpaper reads: "The gift of the Author to J. Willard," the later ink signature of Sidney Willard appears below this inscription. "This translation is faithfully executed, apparently by the authors themselves, or under their immediate inspection; and some explanatory notes are added.
