Aside from William Ged's rather autobiographical book Bibliographical Memoirs of William Ged, Camus's work is the first history of this important printing process. His book Histoire...du Polytypage et de la Stereotypie (1801,) is a much shortened version of these essays, printed with fewer plates, rendering our version as by far the best. Camus's essays inclu "Observatinos sur la Distribution et le Classement des Livres d'une Bibliotheque" in Volume I, pages 643-666; "Addition aux Observations de A.G. Camus" in Volume I, pages 675-676; "Memoire sur un Livre Allemand" in Volume III, pages 170- 211 and 516-520, and Volume V, pages 521-527 (including 8 plat "Rapport fait a l'Institut sur les Travaux des Citoyens Herhan, Ollivier, Dupeyrat, Ou Second Memoire sur l'Histoire et les Procedes du Polytypage et d la Stereotypie" in Volume V, pages 277-349 and 556-563; "Memoire sur l'Impression des Cartes Geographiques et de Quelques Autres Objects en Caracteres Modiles..." in Volume V, pages 416-563.
