Hardcover binding; original leather boards with minor rubbing to extremities. Expertly and attractively rebacked using original maroon leather spine label. Early owner's ink inscription on front pastedown. Howes J842, a reprint of the 1797 expansion with the current title, which was expanded from the 1789 "American Geography", which was expanded from the 1784 "Geography Made Easy...", which was the first American school geography book.
