There are a few splits and tears along folds with some small portions of loss, the map has been re-backed with archival tissue. The text includes an index to the cities and towns, plus steam-boat and canal routes, with a statistical table, etc. The map measures 17 5/8 x 22 3/8 inches, it is colored in outline and shows the country from the east coast westward to portions of what is now Texas, and Missouri Territory. The map includes insets of New Orleans, Boston, Philadelphia, Charleston, New York and Washington.
