N.p., n.d A tantalizing Crabbe manuscript, whose fIrst stanza reads "When Damon woo'd the Charms / of Lovely Celia to his Arms / He liv'd in Dread the While/ / He tremblad at a Rival's Name / And felt distress if any Came To catch a transient Smile." Equally intriguing are the notes, also headed "Exmouth", on the verso of the poem, apparently outlining thoughts on this or other poems Second edition (partly reset) of TALES. 8vo. Working draft of 4 stanzas, 6 lines each, entitled "Exmouth", with numerous corrections and revisions; written in ink on recto of single leaf on the verso of which are ms. notes numbered 1 through 12 (also in Crabbe's hand). Original grey boards with paper labels (browned chipped at worn at spines; upper cover of volume I repaired with early cloth; early bookplates of C.M. Breaker on front pastedowns.
