Chicago: The Caxton Club, 1904 Inserted at the back is the original two page prospectsu for the book, as well as a leaf bearing a two-page ALS (with its envelope) from the author Uzanne to the translator Miss McIlvaine about his willingness to procure for her the brocade for the dentelles and about the binding of this copy of the book by the Translator herself: "Paris 28.1.06 "Chère mademoiselle, "Votre mot qui m'est très agréable me parvient au moment où je quitte Paris pour une absence de quelques semaines.- Je suis très disposé àa vous chercher l'etoffe de doublure de votre livre relié - Toutefois, je désire savoir la dimension de la soie si vous l'employez non seulement à l'intérieur du maroquin (sur le carton) mais aussi sur la garde de face. D'autre part désirez vous un ton complimentaire du vieux rouge, c'est à dire un vert turquoise, un bleu de mer ou quelqu'autre tonalité se mariant au rouge chaudron, ou bien un ton dur ton, c'est à dire vieux rose, orange pâle, cuivre ou rouge brique - ? "Vous me renseignerez sur ces questions et vous comprendrez que je vous les pose - si j'ai votre réponse vers le 15 fevrier, je ferai de mon mieux pour vous acheter une vieille étoffe vers le 20 ou 25 de ce même fevrier.
