Richard Harding Davis was the foremost American reporter of the late 19th century and paved the way for the modern profession of Journalism. He was also a well-known and popular novelist and playwright. His fiction is touched with fact as it largely centers on the subjects and localities made so well known to him as a journalist. His mode of writing is dramatic, vivid and picturesque. This Crossroads edition limited to 256 copies was published the year of his death.
