Wickliffe, member of the the U.S. House ofRepresentatives, 1823-1833). In part: "You have made a requisition upon my muse ... at a moment when she is jaded & lanquid ... and I can not deny myself the honor & gratification of inscribing my name upon it, as a testimonial of my regard, and of my candid wishes for your future happiness." McDuffie was "the most radical of the opponents of the protective tariff" and at the nullification convention of 1832 "warned that secession might follow" (DAB). 4to. 1 page, approximately 75 words.
