Eleanor Friede succeeded Fisher as the wife of Donald Friede. Although the two women had a difficult relationship, Eleanor played an important role as stepmother in the lives of Fisher's two daughters and, following Donald's death in 1965, Mary Francis and Eleanor became fast friends.
